Beta 2 of the Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On is now available via the downloads page. This release adds one enhancement to the User Registration Add-On that makes it possible to use a single form that creates a user and a post with the post author set to the user that is created when the form is submitted.
With the User Registration Add-On you can easily create a registration form that does more than just create a user account, it can also automatically populate user meta data and BuddyPress profile data as well as create a Gravity Forms entry to capture non-user registration related data. The User Registration Add-On also integrates with the PayPal Add-On to require a payment before the user is registered.
The Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On requires the latest build of Gravity Forms v1.5 and will not work with older versions of Gravity Forms. The PayPal integration requires the use of the PayPal Add-On.
Here are some of the features of the User Registration Add-On:
- User Registration - Setup a form to register a user by mapping your form fields to available user registration fields in WordPress.
- User Meta - Easily populate user meta data such as bio, instant messaging id, first name, last name as well as custom user meta to suit your needs.
- BuddyPress Integration - Populate BuddyPress profile field data as part of the user registration process. Currently works with BuddyPress v1.2.6.
- Payment Integration - Require a payment before user registration occurs. Includes support for PayPal subscriptions, and changing the user role or deleting the user if the subscription is canceled.
- Password Field - The User Registration Add-On adds a Password field to Gravity Forms for use in your forms. The Password field includes a confirmation option, as well as a built in password strength checker option.
- Post Author - Integrate the User Registration Add-On and Post Creation on a single form so that the author of the post that is created is the user registered by the add-on.

Good to hear TiborP! We are working on another enhancement for Beta 3 which will bring WordPress Network (multi-site) support so that when a user registers, it also creates them a site and sets them as the admin for the site when running WordPress in network mode.

what a good Add-On and with Network registration it rocks! You are the best guys! I'm waiting very-very much for the stable version.
Will you be including email confirmation, it is necessary to send an email to the user for them to click a link to confirm their registration before being aided to the database.
At present users are added to the database without confirming there email, so in my user table we don't know which emails are legit and which will bounce, so using this data to send emails to users can be damaging to reputation over a period of time.
Is this something that will be implemented?
Besides that it's a great plugin, keep up the good work.
We haven't considered this as it's not currently how the WordPress user registration works by default. But it is something we can look into adding in a future release. It may pose some issues for integrating with the PayPal Add-On because of how they work together, so it may not be something that is compatible with the PayPal Add-On. But then again, when using the PayPal Add-On it can be configured so the user isn't created until payment is received. So it's less likely a fake account would be created.
It would be awesome if the User Registration module had a feature to load the details from the user again and use them in other forms (prefilled and disables so the user can't edit them in the contact form).
Another thing what would be great would be a form builder to edit the users current profile. Now we can only add custom field but the user can't edit it.
